Yesterday my lacrosse team played Westfield. We started off the game really lazy, and not hustling. We were down 3-1 at the end of the first quarter. Both teams scored one goal durring the second quarter. We came out a lot better in the second half. Right in the beginning we drove down and scored, making it 4-3. They scored then to tie it up. We then scored with about 5 minutes to go. We battled for a little bit, but not enough. They scored with less than a minute remaining. It was a tie game. We won the face off, and made a quick pass down to the attack. He then shot a quick shot and…It went in! We won the game.

This weekend my lacrosse team was dominite while we defeated Homestead. We won 16-2 and we played as a team. I had 5 goals and 9 ground balls. Everyone on our team had a ground ball, so we got a treat. Their goal were both at the very end of the game, and by then our team wasn’t even shooting. Our whole team played great which made it even better.

Thisw weekend our team drove down to Evansville to play lacrosse. After about three hours in the car, our team was ready to play. We started off the game stong by scoring less than a minute into it. We scored a second time before they scored. At half time the score was 3-2 my team was winning. After a hard fought first half our team was little tired. Both teams scored two goals durring the third quarter making it a close game, 5-4. We scored making it a two goal game, but with not very much time left they scored also. Our team had the ball until there was about 15 seconds left. Their team took it down the field but not in time. Our team won 6-5, and me and my friend had our only teams goals. We lost the next game 11-8, but it was still a great trip.

Our first lacrosse game was this weekend. Our team beat Noblesville 8-2, and I had 2 goals and an assist. This is the time of the year for lacrosse. If you don’t play a sport in the spring then I would recommend Lacrosse. It’s a great way to keep active.

Monday night, the Butler Bulldogs faced the Duke Devils for the NCAA national title. Butler hustled extremely hard, and made it a one point game right before the half, 32-33. Both teams played extremely great, but Butler couldn’t seem to put the ball in the basket. With just seconds remaining it was a one point game. Butler shot and missed. Duke got the rebound, and was immediately fouled. They made one, and Matt Howard got the rebound. He took a shot from about the half court line, and came so close. I think everyone was proud with the way Butler played. The final score was 59-61, Duke.

Last weekend I played in the end-of-the-season hockey tournament. We had first seed going into the tournament, and had to play Friday night. We lost 6-1. It was the worst we had played all year. We won our next two games easily, and were in the championships against the Canucks ( the team we lost to). We scored the first goal, but they came back and scored quickly. It was like this all the way until the third period. We were up, 5-4, then they scored with about 6 minutes remaining. They unfortunately scored again with 1:09 remaining in the game. We couldn’t score, and that was the game. We lost 6-5, but we still have a tournament this week that were first seed in.

Our school had a dodgeball tournament last week, and it was really fun. We got a bye the first round, but the second round was a challenge. We had to face another really good team. It started out 6-on-6, but they knocked out five of our players and still had three left! My team’s player knocked out all three of their players and moved on to the next round. We beat 2 more teams with ease, and then we were in the finals. We had to face the ”Money Makers” they ended up beating us, and taking home the trophies.

Sidney Crosby scored the game winning goal in OT for Canada. He scored 7:40 into OT with a pass from Jarome Iginla. Jonathan Toews and Corey Perry scored the first two goals making it a 2-0 game. Roberto Luongo was great in goal for Canada with 34 stops. Ryan Kesler and Zac Parise scored the two goals for USA. The US scored with 24 seconds remaining sending it into sudden death overtime. It would have been 4-on-4 hockey for 20 minutes and then a shootout. Unfortunately Crosby scored, and the US fell hard. They should be happy with the way the team played, and they still got Silver medals.

The 2010 Superbowl ended in a tragic loss for the Indianapolis Colts; however, for the Saints it was a great first Superbowl win. Drew Brees won the M.V.P. award. The colts came on with a strong for most of the first half, but the second half wasn’t as strong. At the end of the first half the score was Colts 10-Saints 6. The Saints kicked an onside kick at the begining of the half and recovered it! That was a big play considering they marched down the field and scored on that drive. The colts got the ball and scored making it 17-13 (Colts ahead). The Saints got the ball and kicked a field goal, so they were only down one point. The Saints defence steped up and the colts missed a field goal! The saints went down the field and scored. They got the two point conversion, so if the Colts scored and got the extra point the game would be tied. The Colts made it down the field when Tracy Porter got a 74 yard interception returned for a tuchdown. Thats when they knew the game was over. The colts could still score and came very close, but were stopped of 4th and goal. The Saints had won. It was a great game, and both teams deserved to win.

This years Super Bowl will be held in Miami, Florida. The Indianapolis Colts will be facing the New Orleans Saints. Peyton Manning is the Colts starting quarterback. They have a great passing game that has kept them alive this season. Joseph Addai has ran hard along with Donald Brown and Mike Hart. Drew Brees (Saints QB) is said to be the most accurate passer in the game right now. The Saints have a fantastic combination of running and passing which will help them out a lot. Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush are both great runners. It will be a great matchup that you wont want to miss.
